Ponsonby dental boutique is ACC-registered. We provide you only the best care in those painful times. We can assist you in getting financial assistance through ACC.
ACC stands for Accident Compensation Corporation. It covers accidental injuries/ sports injuries/ damage caused during a medical or dental procedure for both adults and children.
ACC does not cover anything pre-existing, whether it is decay, gum disease, or age-related changes in the gums and teeth. ACC also does not cover anything caused by a dental technician. It doesn’t cover the damage caused to dentures when you weren’t wearing them.
Confused? Wondering when ACC helps and when not? We are here to help. At Ponsonby dental boutique, we aim to ensure you get the best dental treatment and financial assistance. We can personally guide you on where ACC can help and when it does not. Also, our ACC consultation is absolutely free!
We can help you fill the ACC claim form/ ACC42 Dental Injury Claim form and with other formalities such as sending the filled form to ACC. After which, ACC takes up to 10 working days for approving the payment. You get a confirmation letter from ACC.
We understand that dental treatments related to accidents are time-sensitive. Thus, we urge you to see us at the earliest. So, we can do all the paperwork quickly and recommend you for the earliest treatment.
Usually, when you visit us in an emergency caused by accident, we do the primary treatment first, for which you will be paying and the rest of the payment is covered by ACC.
ACC has regulations on how much it pays for the services. Most of the times, ACC makes a partial payment for dental services.
ACC pays treatment regulation amounts for every service. Anything extra will have to be borne by you. The type of treatment needed for the injury and the pre-existing conditions such as the condition of the mouth, teeth or dentures before the injury decide the regulation amount.
ACC contributes only if there is prior approval before starting the treatment. It is advisable to wait for ACC approval before starting any ACC related procedure.
ACC covers the treatment done by a registered dental practitioner only. It is recommended that you visit a dentist and not a dental technician for dental treatment though you have financial constraints.
If the injury is more serious, ACC can help you in other ways too. For instance, if you need time off work, ACC can provide a medical certificate.
