Dental Veneers

Are you looking to transform your smile? Dental veneers can do it for you! Whether you have dull, discoloured, lifeless, misshaped, or misaligned teeth, dental veneers can transform your smile.
Dental veneers are also known as dental porcelain laminates. They are wafer-thin, custom-made tooth shells that cover the front surface of your tooth to change its appearance.
You can get a tooth-coloured veneer made of porcelain or composite.
Dental veneers can correct:
Shape: irregularly shaped teeth/ worn out teeth/ enamel loss/ chipped teeth/ broken teeth
Size: irregular size teeth

Looks: misaligned teeth/ teeth with gaps in between them: What you see is a beautiful smile! No one will know the misalignment underneath veneers.
Colour: discoloured teeth due to any reason such as fluorosis/ tetracycline stains/ tobacco
Dental veneer procedure
A full mouth examination is followed by a consultation. We discuss the necessary treatments if needed and the results that you are looking for.
We give anaesthesia if needed and trim your teeth so as to hold veneers. We take the impression and proceed with shade selection. On your impression, we build veneers in the lab. Final veneers take 2 to 4 weeks. Meanwhile, we give you temporary veneers to keep up your smile.
There are no-prep veneers, too; they just need one visit. However, traditional veneers are stronger, last longer and are stain-resistant too.
In the next visit, we affix the veneer onto your teeth with composite after making necessary adjustments, if any.
The process: etching, rinsing, bonding, and curing follows. We check the final fit and schedule follow up visits.
Dental veneers do not need as much tooth trimming as crowns do. Thus, with veneers, you save a lot of your natural tooth structure! Veneers give you better results than dental bonding and cosmetic re-contouring too. If you have more requirements than dental bonding but not as much as crowns, veneers are the choice! Veneers are stain-resistant too.
Veneers are the best looking, stronger looking, and tooth-saving options. Also, veneers last for 7 to 15 years if maintained well.
However, veneers are expensive and make permanent changes to your teeth. They are not recommended for high decay, gum disease, and tooth clenching habits. Meet us at Ponsonby dental boutique for more details today! We can help you know which option suits you the best.
