What is Fastbraces®?
How Fastbraces® works?
Dental braces or orthodontics with FASTBRACES® Technology addresses the treatment of malocclusions such as overbite or underbite with a non-extraction(no teeth pulling) treatment plan designed by the dentist provider. FASTBRACES® Technology braces come in metal and clear and work by uprighting or straightening the roots of the teeth from the beginning of treatment towards their tooth straight position.
Traditional braces move teeth into position in two stages, usually over a period of about two years. In the first year, the crown of the tooth is moved into alignment. In the second year, treatment addresses the position of the root of the tooth. However, the brackets used with Fastbraces® work on a different mechanical principle altogether. The patented system uses an innovative triangular bracket and a specially – shaped square wire to correct the position of the root of the tooth, from the beginning of treatment. This combination is key in realigning the root and crown simultaneously.

What is Fastbraces® ?
Braces or orthodontics with Fastbraces® is a technological innovation in orthodontia that addresses the treatment of malocclusions such as overbite, underbite, crowding, etc., without having to pull out any tooth/teeth (using non-extraction treatment plan).
Fastbraces® technology braces come in two types – metal and clear.They work by straightening the roots of the teeth from the beginning of treatment until the teeth are straight.
- Low frictional forces amongst all orthodontic brackets
- Easy adaptability and manoeuvrability
- Easy on the tissues; minimal discomfort
- Minimal root resorption
- Non-extraction treatment plan
- Maintains the natural bite
- Easy, fast and efficient
- Short span treatment instead of years
- Less expensive and cost effective
How do Fastbraces® work ?
Teeth are crooked because their roots are tilted or not in upright position. Therefore, because the roots are tilted and not upright, the teeth come in the mouth tilted, posing a malocclusion or altered bite. If the tooth comes in ‘straight’ in the mouth, this means that the root is also straight for that tooth. Fastbraces® Technology targets the roots of the tooth from the beginning of the treatment. When the root is upright, then the tooth becomes straight.
How are they different from Traditional Braces ?
The Traditional braces move teeth into position in two stages, usually over a period ofabout two years. In the first year, the crown of the tooth is moved into alignment. In thesecond year, treatment addresses the position of the root of the tooth. However, thebrackets used with Fastbraces® work on a different mechanical principle altogether. To upright a root to make the tooth straight, Fastbraces® Technology uses a special square super-elastic nickel-titanium wire, in order to torque and upright the root. Old braces are typically square in shape and don’t provide for enough room between them. If the square brackets are replaced with triangular ones as inFastbraces® Technology, the distance between the braces doubles. Therefore, by doubling the distance, the flexibility of the square wire increases eight times (23 = 8). Thus, with Fastbraces® Technology, one square wire can be engaged comfortably and easily between the braces in order to upright the root from the beginning of treatment. This dynamic wire helps to upright the whole tooth using the natural temperature of the mouth in just one stage, safely and comfortably. Therefore, treatment time is considerably reduced and can be completed in about a year or as little as 3 months in some cases.
How Quickly Do Fastbraces® Work ?
Thanks to their specialized design, Fastbraces® accomplish this much more quickly. This is far faster than traditional braces, which necessitate two years of use and 24/7 retainers afterward.
Fastbraces® Technology has shown optimal performance in the following areas:
- Technology : The Fastbraces® Technology patented bracket design using unique triangular shaped braces that allow for the use of just one super-elastic nickel-titanium wire during the treatment process. This braces technology works on an entirely different mechanical principle altogether. Historically, old braces would move the crown of the tooth in the first year, and the root of the tooth in the second year.
- Low frictional forces : The Fastbraces® Technology brackets have an elevated slot and an unique elbow design. The shape of the bracket is triangular, which alters the force-flexibility equation that we are used to, working with conventional braces system. The triangular shape of Fastbraces® brackets increases the flexibility of the wire. A single wire is used instead of multiple wires as seen in conventional braces.
- Less sensitivity : The Fastbraces® Technology with the help of torquing and tipping movements help move the crown and root of the teeth at the same time, from the beginning of treatment. Patients can now get results often with less sensitivity, in about a year, and in some instances, just 3-6 months.
- Pain Reduction : Studies show that Fastbraces® Technology braces have low friction, low sensitivity, no risk and safer, compared to traditional braces.
- Less root resorption statistically : Because of the design and less forces exerted on the surrounding tissues, root resorption has been found to be significantly lower as compared to traditional braces.
Other benefits include:
- Truly impressive results in months!
- A comfortable treatment
- Minimal retainer wear
There are two Fastbraces® options designed to cater to each patient’s desired treatment timeline and cosmetic goals. The original product of Fastbraces®, Classic TM Series TM braces, are economically designedto fit precisely in your smile. This option helps to ensure patient comfort while the bracketsshift teeth into place. Patients can receive either metal or ceramic brackets, or acombination of the two for a customized appearance.
Fastbraces® Standard Metal
Fastbraces® Standard Metal is the original bracket invented by Fastbraces® Founder and Specialist Orthodontist, Dr. Anthony Viazis, DDS, MS, and has been tested thoroughly with universityresearch in the U.S., Europe, and South America. These braces offers the state of the art performancewith multiple advantages to moving teeth compared to traditional systems.
Fastbraces® Ceramic Clear
Fastbraces® Ceramic Clear is a new and amazing clear ceramic bracket that offers the same advantages ofmoving teeth as with Fastbraces® Standard Metal. With the added benefit of an aesthetic appeal and anavailable tooth coloured wire, Ceramic Clear will dazzle everyone with its performance for atotal cosmetic braces solution.
The new Fastbraces® TURBO bracket system is now available for those patients where time is moreimportant than money. It is the latest creation of Dr. Anthony Viazis, almost a quarter of acentury after the introduction of the original bracket for more speed and efficiency.
Fastbraces® Retainers are clear and made from durable material that is custom fit to the patients’mouth. Post treatment therapy, retainer require wear of only 15 to 20 minutes a day, whichmakes it a very successful complete procedure of latest orthodontic treatment.
Do I have to continue with retainers for a long time ?
With the complete alignment of the roots of the teeth, retention is needed every day for only 15-20minutes. Some people like wearing the retainers at night. No more retainers during the day for months after treatment. This is yet another reason whyFastbraces® Technology is changing the way orthodontics is done altogether.
Invisalign Vs. Fastbraces® : Which Is Better For You? What Are Fastbraces® ?
Traditional metal braces are still used because they still work. However, a big drawback tothose is how long it takes. With traditional braces, you usually have to wear them for 2-3years. That means 2-3 years of eating restrictions and compromised aesthetics. Fastbraces® is different. This modern orthodontic treatment uses uniquely shaped bracketsand wires that move your entire tooth (root and crown) at the same time. This meansFastbraces® is more comfortable than traditional braces. Even better, this treatment can becomplete in months, not years! However, Fastbraces® still uses metal and wires. It will be obvious that you are getting orthodontic treatment, and you will still have to be careful about what you eat. (Some foodseither get stuck or can even hurt braces).You’ll also have to come to our clinic often to have your wire tightened. Otherwise, your teeth won’t move.
What Is Invisalign ?
This is an orthodontic treatment that doesn’t use any metal or wires. Invisalign is a seriesof clear plastic trays that fit snugly over your teeth. Each tray is shaped a little differently.By wearing them in sequence, Invisalign repositions your teeth and jaw like traditionalbraces. Invisalign can be easier to use as well. They can be taken out whenever you want, so youdon’t have to worry about any eating restrictions. Because they’re clear, the Invisalignaligners are also practically invisible when worn. They are great when you want a discreetorthodontic treatment. This treatment works well, but regular braces usually do a betterjob if you have some severely crooked teeth or need a lot of work repositioning your jaw.Invisalign is usually not as affordable as other orthodontic treatments.
Fastbraces® vs. Invisalign
|Treatment Time||Less than a year (In most cases)||More than a year|
|Hours to be worn||24 hours||12-22 hours per day|
|Periodic doctor visits required||Yes||Yes|
|Price||Comparatively less expensive||Expensive|
|Hygiene||Brush brackets while brushing teeth||Brush and rinse trays|
Which Do You Need?
In the end, the choice between Fastbraces® and Invisalign needs to be made between youand your dentist. A few guidelines to consider.
- If you want your orthodontic treatment to be oversoon, then you probably wantFastbraces® . Invisalign is normally done in a year, whereas Fastbraces® can be done inmonths. However, this all depends on how much work is needed to get your teeth andjaw properly aligned.
- If you want to hide the fact that you’re getting orthodontic treatment, then stick withInvisalign. Fastbraces® is done sooner, but it’s hard to beat Invisalign’s clear plasticaligners for being discreet.
- If you are very active or play sports, then you should go with Invisalign as well. If youtake a nasty fall or get hit in the mouth, the metal inFastbraces® can really hurt. Invisalign is much more similar to a mouthguard.
Fastbraces® for Adults
When adults are advised “you need braces”, some people enter into a battle of anxiety. Whenbraces are opted as an option for treatment, some people are afraid to go ahead since the paranoia of looks sets in, especially during a businessmeeting or while enjoyinga date. The old braces are usually square in shape and typically tilt the crown of the tooth in the first year, and upright the root of thetooth in the second year, thus requiring two years of treatment time. The patented triangular bracket in theFastbraces® Technology gently allows for movement of the roots of the teeth towards their final positions from the onset of treatment with no extra risk for the patient. As the strength of bone is comparatively great,the treatment proves to be a very successful one.
Fastbraces® for Children
